This multi-chain wallet has a new design that is far better than the previous one and is pretty decent, too. I admired it. It is also made of new material and is less elastic than an old card.

Seed Phrase Options

The new Tangem wallet has the option to reveal a seed phrase. It’s totally up to you whether you want to reveal it or not. However, Tangem recommends you go without the seed phrase option to avoid the chances of being hacked. One reason is that your phone may have malware, so hackers can access your wallet. A simple way to stay secure is to generate your seed phrase offline, without any internet. Use flight mode or remove the SIM from the device and then create. In this way, no one can access it.

Tangem Wallet Security

Tangem wallet has been so secure that no single card has been hacked over 1,000,000 (one million) since 2018. There was an incident where a boy claimed his card stopped working. To investigate the incident, the Tangem team went to that boy, but everything was okay. It was a scam.

Tangem Crypto Wallet Chip

The reason there is no security concern is the Tangem wallet chip, which is manufactured by Samsung with EAL6+ security, which NASA uses. It is IP68, fully water- and dust-proof, and also works at extreme temperatures. Also, ISO certification means you can take it anywhere in the airport with no X-ray issue. Concerns About Revealing Your Seed Phrases

There are a few concerns about revealing your seed phrases. This happened to one person from Nuada. He was carrying his seed phrase along with him in the car. He did not even know, and he lost all his funds. So, is it worse? It totally depends on you, as I have discussed earlier, how someone can use it or whether your dashboard can reveal anything. If I must choose between revealing or not revealing, I will go with no-seed phrases.

With the new Tangem 2.0 wallet, you can migrate your assets from the previous wallet to Tangemit by entering your seed phase. It means you don’t need a new wallet; just migrate your wallet into it and enjoy the highest security conveniently, even if you are a beginner. Transfer your seed phrase—it does not matter if it is 12, 18, or even 24 words—by using the BIP 39 protocol.  This method is the best way to move your assets to one of the best hardware crypto wallets.

Notable Future Updates of Tangem Wallet

The Tangem wallet is going by leaps and bounds to provide more security features to make it exceptional. It is expected to be in January 2024. These features will be for security purposes and will provide tangible ways to make money. Here is the list of amazing features of the Innovative Tangem Wallet, which it has implemented or will implement in January 2024: 

  • Dark mode: Tangem has officially implemented the dark mode. I love this feature and will use it.
  • New shape: Tangem is working to change its shape from card to accessory. It is not USB stick-shaped or card-shaped but can be anything like a watch, bracelet, ring, or casual accessory to make it unique. Tangem is so innovative.
  • Staking: The Tangem wallet will soon have a staking option; you don’t need any other Dapp to stake your crypto. With this, you can conveniently stake your cryptocurrency within the Tangem app, which will be stored in a cold wallet.

 

  • Cross-chain swapping: As you already use the Tangem coin swap feature, you will soon be able to bridge your crypto with cross-chain swapping, such as Tether from the Tron network to Tether on a Binance merchant.

 

 

  • Coin market detail: Soon, this feature will also be implemented to check the coin market details to know the exact changes in crypto prices in the last 24 hours, meaning you can instantly check the price on the app.
  • Sort out your crypto: You can sort out your crypto group to avoid any mess and peacefully maintain it.
  • Adjust the gas fee: Three gas fees are small, medium, and high. If you select a low gas fee, then transactions will take time to deliver, but with high gas, you can do transactions quickly but with a high charging fee. It will soon be adjusted to a fixed amount of charges where you can put random numbers, and it will deliver as you don’t care about this.

  • Multiple wallets on one card: You can add multiple addresses after the update. As of now, you can just add one address, like one Bitcoin, one Etheriun, etc., but you will be able to add multiple addresses, such as many Bitcoins, many Etheriuns, etc.

 

  • Security feature: A new feature will be added. With this, you can remove backup cards and use them for your transactions. If you remove the backup cards, their functionality will not be changed; they will still be used for transactions. Whenever you want, you can add them again as backup cards.
  • Tangem ring release 2024: In Q2 of 2024, Tangem will release the first wearable crypto cold wallet, which will be a ring. Similarly, you can do transactions with it. Don’t worry if you lose it, because it will also have backup cards. It’s really amazing and innovative.

Tangem has already formed partnerships; they are beta-testing features to implement. It will work by converting crypto assets into fiat currency, such as USD or Euro, at the point of sale. You can choose the crypto asset you want to use to make a payment, and it will automatically convert it to the merchant’s fiat currency. This will allow users to spend their crypto assets without worrying about price volatility or exchange rates.

It’s bulky, but it can do everything. Trezor is like Fort Knox for your crypto. It’s the most secure option, expensive, and difficult to use. IoTrust is like a biometric lock for your crypto. It’s convenient, but it’s not as secure as some of the other options. Arculus is like a sleek and stylish smartphone case for your crypto. It’s portable and looks good, but it doesn’t support all cryptocurrencies. So, Tangem is the best option, and it’s also cheaper compared to these.

Conclusion: Tangem Hardware Wallet Review and Experiences

I have been using the Tangem wallet for a long time. I have my Tangem Classic card. Soon, I will have my new Tangem cards, and when they arrive, I will review them. Now, Tangem wallet lets you choose the seed phrase options. But they also recommend that it is optional and that it’s better to hide it from you.

If I have to choose between revealing a seed phrase and not, I will go with the second option to secure my funds. It’s not like your Tangem wallet can be hacked, but from your phone malware, it can; otherwise, no card has been hacked. This ensures how secure it is. It is your choice and optional; you can choose what you want.

Also, I want to add to my Tangem app review that my experience with it has been great. They often update it to make specific changes or add new features. However, the wallet cannot be updated, which ensures high security. I quite like it.
